In 1896, France issued a medal to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the completion of the Statue of Liberty. This 2016 silver medal is similar to the original, but it was issued for the 130th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty. Struck by the Paris Mint, mintage of this 1 oz. Medal was limited to 400 pieces.

It was struck with the utmost concern for quality and detail, and this coin easily achieved the highest grade of Mint State 70. The obverse shows a pair of shields and an olive branch along with a small portrait of a man. This man is Frederic Auguste Bartholdi and he designed the Statue of Liberty. The inscription on this side is different than the original, the words "UNITED TO PROTECT OUR LIBERTIES" can be seen here.

The design on the reverse depicts 3 figures along with the Statue of Liberty. The Franco-American Union is also mentioned at the top, which is the group that was created for the construction of the statue.

The unique mintage number of every coin has been struck onto its smooth edge. This medal was submitted to the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) for grading.

Since it is completely flawless, it received the grade of Mint State 70. The individual serial number of each coin has been recorded by NGC on each label.
