2019 2 oz Silver Queen's Beasts Yale of Beaufort (10 Coins). The Royal Mint has once again proven its impeccable dedication to producing British coinage that faithfully represents the nation's rich heritage. Seventh in the immensely popular tencoin Queen's Beasts series, The Yale of Beaufort was designed for the British Royal Mint by the highly respected engraver, Jody Clark. As with the six previous releases, the intricate detail captured on the image is truly awesome!

This magnificent 2019 2 oz Silver Queen's Beasts Yale of Beaufort contributes greatly to the centuries of British heritage represented in the 10 original painted plaster statues of 1953. Minted in high-relief with highest purity and 2 oz weight, this silver bullion coin series has become a highly treasured favorite among collectors and precious metals investors worldwide. The coin's obverse displays Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and the 5 pounds face value. Quite interestingly, the Queen's portrait was also designed by Jody Clark and adopted into British coinage since 2016.

The background pattern features the Royal Mint's new guilloché texture design. The Heraldic Yale of Beaufort.

The Yale of Beaufort was a mythical beast adopted as a heraldic symbol representing proud defense. The Yale heraldry descended to the Queen through Henry VII, who inherited it from his mother, Lady Margaret Beaufort. The beast's coat was white and covered with gold spots, and it was able to swivel each of its horns independently. Its shield features a portcullis surmounted by a royal crown. The uncrowned portcullis was a Beaufort badge but used both crowned and uncrowned by Henry VII.

Its appearance, according to Pliny the Elder, was the size of a hippopotamus, with an elephant's tail of black or dark brown in color and the jaws of a boar and horns more than a cubit in length, capable of being moved and which in a fight are raised alternately and presented to the attack or sloped backward in turn as opportunity requires. In stunning detail, the reverse features the Yale of Beaufort reared behind its shield, which depicts a royal crown resting atop a portcullis.

The Yale of Beaufort fills the center inset, a stern countenance signaling its status as a heraldic beast and supporter of the British Royal Family. Inscriptions include YALE OF BEAUFORT. The designer's initials are below and to the right of the shield. Seventh edition of a series of ten coins. Contains 2 troy oz of.

Obverse: Displays Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, against the Royal Mint's stunning guilloché obverse pattern. And the 5 pounds face value. Reverse: Features the heraldic detailed image representing the Yale of Beaufort, the date, and the coin's weight and purity. Sovereign coin backed by the British government.

The Queen's Beasts are ten heraldic statues depicting the genealogy of Queen Elizabeth II. The statues were created by the British sculptor James Woodford in 1953 for the Queen's coronation, and temporarily set up in front of the western annex to Westminster Abbey, the coronation church of the British monarchy.

Today, the almost 2meter high painted plaster figures are on display in the Canadian Museum of History in Ottawa. The item "2019 Silver Britain Queen's Beasts (The Yale) 2 oz (10 Coins)" is in sale since Friday, February 22, 2019.
